Country doctors still make house calls and know their patients personally. The Country Doctor of the YearSM Award, sponsored by Staff Care®, recognizes their continuing contribution to rural healthcare. The award is presented each December to a physician who best exemplifies the spirit, skill, and dedication of America's rural medical practitioners. Anyone with knowledge of an extraordinary physician may submit a nomination. Nomination forms may be requested by calling Staff Care at (800) 685-2272 or you may download the form. Award winners receive complimentary locum tenens (temporary physician) coverage courtesy of Staff Care for two weeks, allowing them to take some well-deserved time off. They also receive a personalized bronze plaque depicting the award's signature logo—a country doctor making rounds in a horse and buggy—and other items of recognition. |
